Naamah Paley

Naamah Paley is a junior at the University of Michigan from New York City. She is majoring in Middle Eastern and North African Studies and minoring in International Studies, studying both Hebrew and Arabic. She is the founding policy coordinator of the University of Michigan chapter of the Roosevelt Institution, a national student think-tank. She also volunteers for the Detroit Project as a tutor in various elementary schools in and around Detroit. Naamah has interned at the Israel Policy Forum both in New York and in Jerusalem. Last summer, she traveled and worked in both rural and urban Turkey and plans to study abroad this winter at the American University of Cairo. After graduating, Naamah hopes to spend more time across the Middle East somewhere in the field of diplomacy.

Yevgeny Shrago

Yevgeny is a sophomore Honors student at the University of Michigan from Rochester, New York. He is considering majoring in Political Science or Economics. He is a member of the Shipman Society and is an associate editor for the Michigan Journal of Political Science. He is also a member of the Michigan Academic Competition team. Born in the former Soviet Union, he quickly remedied the problem by moving to the United States in 1989. Yevgeny\'s academic interests include politics, history and moral and political philosophy.

Zach Foster

Zachary Foster is a senior at the University of Michigan from West Bloomfield, MI. He studies Sociology with an emphasis on religion. He has served as a research assistant at the Center for Political Studies and the Family and Demography Program, both at the Institute for Social Research, and as a religious school teacher and America Reads tutor. He spent the fall 2005 semester at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. He is also the vice-president of the national champion University of Michigan Bridge Team. Zach has held internships at Students for Sensible Drug Policy and The Israel Project in Washington D.C. He hopes to pursue a Ph.D. in sociology.

Shahryar Minhas

Shahryar Minhas is a junior at the University of Michigan. He is majoring in Economics and Political Science. He currently serves as an associate for Nasim Group, a private investment firm, and has done development work for Nasim Group in Afghanistan and Mozambique. He also volunteers at project sites in and around Detroit for Habitat for Humanity. Shahryar has interned in Washington D.C for Representative John Dingell, and in London at Parliament for Bob Blizzard MP. After graduation Shahryar will attend law school.

Keshet Shenkar

Keshet Shenkar is a senior at the University of Michigan majoring in English Literature and minoring in Anthropology. She has served on board at Hillel for two years, in addition to chairing and participating in individual committees. Keshet also teaches second-grade Hebrew and Judaic Studies twice a week at a local synagogue religious school and participates in various Hebrew text-study programs. Keshet has spent her summers as a Bnei Akiva camp counselor, and interning at New York City’s Court Appointed Special Advocates, a nonprofit organization aiding children in foster care. After graduating, Keshet plans to study law and work in the nonprofit sector. She is currently working on a senior thesis on representations of Jewish women in Victorian novels.

Dara Yaskil

Dara Yaskil is a sophmore at the University of Michigan from Washington Township, New Jersey. She is currently undecided as to what her major will be, however, is entertaining the idea of becoming an Architect. She is a Hebrew Tutor, and just spent two months in Jerusalem volunteering with Livnot and taking classes at Hebrew University.

Miriam Liebman

Miriam Liebman is a junior at the University of Michigan from Farmingotn Hills, Michigan. She is majoring Middle East and North African studies. She has been involved in Seeds of Peace and other Jewish-Arab coexistence projects such as the Children of Abraham for the last four years. She interned at Wayne State University’s Center for Peace and Conflict Studies as well as Michigan Radio (Ann Arbor’s National Public Radio Station). Miriam is currently a member of Habonim Dror. On campus, she is a co-chair of the Union of Progressive Zionists (UPZ).

Leslie Rott

Leslie Rott is a senior at the University of Michigan from Huntington Woods, Michigan. She is majoring in English and Sociology. She is currently a tutor at the Sweetland Writing Center and an associate director of the Undergraduate Sociology Association. Leslie has interned for the past two summers at the Mackinac Island Town Crier, the newspaper on Mackinac Island and does freelance writing for the Detroit Jewish News. In past years at the University, she has been involved in various Jewish activities on campus. Leslie is currently working on an honors thesis in sociology on the everyday experiences of short females. After graduating, Leslie hopes to attend graduate school to obtain a PhD in sociology.

Jaclyn Rice

Jaclyn Rice is a Junior at the University of Michigan where she is majoring in Political Science. She is from New York City and visited Israel for the first time this summer on a birthright trip. After returning from Israel, Jaclyn focused on developing her business skills by attending the Business Bridge Program at the Tuck School of Business. For the winter semester, Jaclyn plans to live in Hong Kong, where she will study International Politics and Business and hopes to focus her future work in these two fields.

Dina Ufberg

Dina Ufberg is a sophomore at the University of Michigan from Scranton, Pennsylvania. She is currently an employee at the Jewish Cultural Center in Ann Arbor where she serves as the teen youth director. She also volunteers as a tutor for The Peace Neighborhood Center and various other organizations around campus. She has served as the arts and culture chair at Hillel. Additionally, she has traveled to Argentina and Ukraine on volunteer outreach trips. Dina has worked at Camp Ramah in the Poconos and at the Jewish Community Center in Manhattan.

Yaniv Zimet

Yaniv Zimet is a senior at the University of Michigan's College of Engineering, majoring in Computer Science. He was born in Israel and moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan with his family when he was in elementary school. Yaniv has been developing websites for many years, continually learning and keeping an eye out for interesting new techniques and programming languages. This past summer, Yaniv was studying abroad at the Technion Institute in Haifa, Israel.
